Turning Trash into Joy: For the Need Foundation Partners with WM to bring Holiday Cheer to County Hospital

(A.Spaccarelli) – For the 22nd year and for the first time since COVID, For the Need Foundation brought the Holiday party of a lifetime to the children of the Los Angeles General Medical Center featuring Santa Claus with gifts for everyone.

Christmas should be a cheerful time for children. Unfortunately, for many children, cancer, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, kidney diseases, developmental issues, and burns make Christmas less merry than it should be. What is worse, these Children have faced unprecedented isolation throughout COVID.

This is why For the Need, based in Simi Valley, teamed up with Waste Management “WM” to bring a kid-friendly magician, live music, Santa Claus with gifts for everyone, and fun activities such as ornament making, cupcake decorating, and face painting to over 270 guests.

“Looking around the beautifully decorated room full of cheerful volunteers and happy children, I teared up thinking about how many of those kids will remember this day for the rest of their lives.” – Allie Spaccarelli, daughter of founders and staff at For the Need.

For many of these children, this is the only encouragement they will get over the holidays, and that impact changes lives. Myan Spaccarelli, founder of For the Need Foundation, attended a party like this one as a child and that fueled the inspiration necessary for him to plan these Holiday Parties with his wife Viviana. He decided that if he ever had the opportunity to do something similar, he would.

Thank you to our generous sponsors Waste Management “WM”, Larsen’s Restaurants, Encore Cases, Simi Church, The Valley Church, K&J Printing, and The Hu Family Foundation for making this party possible.

  1. I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your blog. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility issues?

A handful of my blog readers have complained about my website not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox.
Do you have any solutions to help fix this issue?
