For The Need Foundation (FTN) partners with WM to host Gratitude And Giving Back: Christmas Party for families struggling with homelessness in the Bow & Arrow Program, which takes place in Simi Church of Christ in Simi Valley.
For The Need is a non-profit organization that hosts various private events throughout the year to benefit families in unstable housing conditions or low-income environments. As the year comes to an end, FTN prepares to teach children the benefits of gratitude and giving through various activities and lessons in this impactful event.
This event consists of various activities relating to giving and gratitude, including heartfelt letters to troops and families and tie blankets. After lunch, kids are able to decorate ornaments and will receive a pair of shoes purchased from Operation Warm. They will also have the opportunity to interact with Santa Claus and pass around presents from the Toy Drive.
Program Coordinator of FTN, Taylor Pizinger, shares her insight about this event, stating, “This annual event is meant to not only spread the word about the importance of giving and gratitude, but to help every child forget about harsh reality, and to just be a kid during this season of joy.”
