As we breezed through the first month of 2024, we’re thrilled to share some heartwarming updates and exciting plans for the rest of this hopeful year with you.

For those who might be new to our family, For The Need is a beacon of hope and support in our community. We dedicate ourselves to empowering youth facing homelessness, chronic illness, and hardship through mentorship and educational programs. Our mission is to provide these young individuals, whom we lovingly call our ‘Arrows’, with the guidance, skills, and confidence they need to navigate the challenges of life.

That’s why we need your support – our ‘Bows’ and ‘Crossbows’ – our cherished volunteers and mentors who help guide our arrows towards their goals. Whether it’s lending an ear or leading a project, you’re helping these kids, our ‘Arrows,’ find their direction and hit their targets in life.

And if you cannot volunteer with events, we can still use your support. We invite you to donate here or sponsor an event, which will help impact the lives of all our ‘Arrows.’

🌱 January: Building Our Team🌱

On January 13th, we gathered not just as individuals, but as a growing force for good. Your presence and commitment were felt by all – 60 attendees, 42 new sign-ups, and 21 successfully live scanned ready to become trusted mentors in our future programs. These numbers are more than statistics; they represent our strengthened capability to mentor and make a difference.

Special thanks to Serena Nguyen, whose presentation on trauma-informed care provided us with essential skills to approach our mentoring roles with sensitivity and confidence.

🚀 Upcoming Adventures: Rocket Day! 🚀

Mark your calendars for an out-of-this-world Bow and Arrow event. This event’s theme, ‘Shoot for the Stars,’ is all about building rockets, having fun, and igniting dreams. With hands-on activities, we aim to blend education with fun, allowing these young minds to explore their potential under the nurturing guidance of our mentors, the Bows.

Our volunteers are buzzing with excitement, ready to guide our Arrows through a journey of fun, learning, and self-discovery. And there’s room for you to join in!
