Homelessness has been a recurring problem in large-scale cities due to lack of opportunities and constant cycles of familial struggle. This is a prominent struggle in Ventura County, with conflicts such as homelessness and low-income lifestyles affecting a better future for many people.
In Ventura County alone, 2,358 people were counted as homeless in 2024, which is a 3.4% decrease from 2023. In 2025, it is expected that homelessness will only go lower, as many resources such as RAIN Bridge Housing Program, CalWORKS Housing Support Program (CHSP), and Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) have been focusing their attention to help the cause.
According to The County Of Ventura, The Ventura County Homelessness Plan outlines a strategy to combat homelessness through all the community partnerships and collaborations mentioned above. With these collaborations, many non-profit organizations such as For The Need Foundation directly combat specific areas where homelessness evolves, to prevent the conflict from affecting families any longer. For The Need aims to transform youth in these families to break free from the clutches of struggle, to flourish in a better future with stability and success.
