Community Leaders Unite for the Woman’s Economic Venture Impact Report 2022

(CLAIR) – A gathering of community leaders convened to discuss the Woman’s Economic Venture Impact report for 2022. Among the attendees were Dorina Timbol, Executive Director of For The Need (FTN), Catalina Solis, and Executive Director Suzy Lopez-Garcia of Community Action of Ventura County (CAVC).

Catalina Solis, a development coordinator for CAVC, provides high-level administrative support to the CAVC organization. Her career includes over 25 years of experience supporting executives at nonprofits.

Executive Director Suzy Lopez-Garcia started with CAVC in 2014 as a Cal-Fresh outreach staff member. Lopez-Garcia has assumed several roles within the organization, including the Medi-Cal outreach team manager. She has served as Executive Director since January 2020.

The Woman’s Economic Venture Impact report is a key document that outlines the impact and outcomes of the initiatives and programs undertaken by Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV). WEV offers advisory support, coaching, and microloans to small minority and women-run businesses. They have been a resource for women and minorities looking to start, grow, or improve a small business since 1991, providing training and advisory services to more than 19,000 people and issuing more than $7 million in small business loans.

The event is a testament to the power of community action and the collective effort to uplift and support women and minority-owned businesses. The participation of community leaders like Timbol, Solis, and Lopez-Garcia underlines the importance of these initiatives and their far-reaching impact on society.
